Things To Do on Mother's Day 2024 in Connecticut

1. Take mom outside for some sunshine
Does your mom like to spend time in the outdoors? Maybe she would like to snuggle with some little goats (spaces fill up fast!), go birdwatching, or climb in the trees.
2. Treat Mom to a treat
Visit Fascia's Chocolates for an hour-long workshop all about chocolates, or spend a special time at the Mother's Day Tea Party in Stamford.
3. Visit a fair for Mother's Day 2024
There are lots and lots of fairs going on. Spend some time at Barnes Nature Center at their Spring Fair, or get some fresh asparagus for dinner at Brown's Harvest SpringFest.

4. Spend Mother's Day 2024 at a CT museum
Take in the brand new exhibit Step Into the Future at the CT Science Center or take a boat ride with the Connecticute River Museum's Riverquest Mother's Day Cruise.
5. Pack a picnic and head out to a vineyard near you
There are some special vineyards in Connecticut and just beyond our borders. These vineyards have plenty of space to lay out a picnic for the fam. And they can offer mom and dad a special drink for Mother's Day.

6. Go for a fun pirate themed boat ride as a family
The Argia will set sail with little pirates and their parents on Mother's Day. Every child will get a (fake) tattoo and eye patch.
7. Make something creative and useful with Mom
Create a keepsake with Mom and take her to Annie's Natural for the Candle Making Class. Or grab a time slot and make some soap at Bradley Farm (Only on May 11).

8. Enjoy the blooms of springtime.
Wade through a sea of beautiful flowers at Colorblends Home and Garden. Or go pick some amazing tulips at Wicked Tulip Farms (they open April 22).
9. Pour a special candle for Mother's Day 2024
The Clay Date has a walk-in candle-pour bar and is open on Mother's Day. Candles are ready in a half-hour. Also, Natural Annie's has a Family Friendly Candle Making workshop on May 11.
10. Take a relaxing walk at a park
These parks are beautiful as well as tons of fun for the kids. Many of them have picnic tables (as well as playgrounds), and one even has exotic animals!

11. Experience nature up close
Get your cameras ready for adorable pictures of baby animals at one of these petting zoos in Connecticut.
12. Go out to breakfast all together
Sausages, pancakes, French toast, coffee and orange juice and more! Go out to breakfast with Mom and then go on a bicycle ride in the Hartford-area or Fairfield-area.
13. Keep it fun and FREE
The whole family will like the New England Carousel Museum. In 2024, children 12 and under are free! Also, Yale Peabody Museum just reopened and is free for everyone.
14. Take a special day trip as a family
Take your whole family on a short drive to a new place like Newport, Rhode Island, the Berkshires or Mystic.
15. Splurge on a night away
Go the extra distance and reserve a room at one of these fancier resorts and hotels. Mohegan Sun has kids activities and of course Mystic is a great place for the whole families.

16. Meet adorable alpacas
Does mom like soft, furry, sweet-hearted animals? Celebrate Mother's Day May 12 at Chakana Sky Alpacas. These animals are cute as can be!

17. Find a place to see and select pretty blooms
The flowers are blooming! Take mom to see some stunning flowers for Mother's Day. Or even select some to come home with you from one of these locations.

18. Take a tour of Connecticut's historic lighthouses
One thing Connecticut is famous for is the shoreline. Bring mom on a tour of a few of our most famous lighthouses and then stop for some crabs legs and seafood.

19. Pick up a dozen outstanding cupcakes for Mom
Bakeries that specialize in cupcakes know their business with flavors like Raspberry Lemonade, Chocolate Cherry Cheesecake and Cookie Dough Cheesecake. Get Mom the best cupcakes she will ever have in the Fairfield area or Hartford area.
20. Take her out for a special Mother's Day meal
There are lots of special Mother's Day Brunches and Breakfasts in Connecticut that mom will like.
