2. Hike at Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary
One of our favorite places in Memorial, this small sanctuary offers walking trails, birding, and educational programs, and is home to a hand-constructed log cabin from 1932. The trails are approximately 1.5 miles long, which makes this an easy but fun hike for even the youngest kids. Several youth programs are offered at the Sanctuary, including stories and crafts time for preschoolers on Monday mornings.

This independent, neighborhood bookstore has a fantastic selection of children's and adult literature. 7. Play at Hedwig Park.
Located next to Spring Branch Memorial Library, this big playground has picnic tables, several play structures, and a gated play area for toddlers. But what makes this playground one of our go-to’s is that it’s under a canopy of trees. The shade makes this playground bearable even during the hot summer months.
8. Climb at Texas Rock Gym.

When my kids were younger and the weather was less than ideal, we headed to Frolic’s Castle. This large, indoor soft-play area inside Memorial City Mall includes a three-level medieval castle and a separate area for toddlers. It's one of our favorite free indoor playgrounds.
