For the Philly suburbs, it is time for the holiday lights to shine, for kids to get giddy over a visit with Santa, and even for a chance to harken back to times of yore with Victorian-era Christmas parades, tree lighting ceremonies, and celebrations throughout Chester County. Of course, no Christmas season is complete without a trip to see the most spectacular tree-lighting celebration in the region. Visit Longwood anytime throughout the holiday season, but be sure to purchase timed admission tickets in advance. Longwood is famous for its spectacular Christmas show, with more than 500,000 twinkling lights, and even floating trees throughout. Tickets are subject to a fee.

December 4-5, 2015, 6:00pm
Holiday-themed events take place all weekend, but the tree-lighting ceremony is at the Pavilion in Burke Park (Warren Ave and Roberts Lane).

This local community parade includes a visit with Santa. The tree lighting takes place at 8:00pm, so stick around until the end!
Old Fashioned Christmas Parade , Downtown West Chester December 4, 2015, 7:15pm
West Chester’s biggest event is a must-see for Philly area families. Celebrating Christmas with dozens of events that surround the parade, kids and parents alike will want to head down early and make a day of it. The Old Fashioned Christmas parade is also televised annually on QVC on Christmas Day.

The 2015 Coatesville Christmas Parade will march down Lincoln Highway. Bring your folding chairs and enjoy the festivities.

Traveling from west to east along Lancaster Ave, the Downingtown parade ends with a chance to meet Santa. Make sure the little ones are in comfy and festive clothes because there are sure to be plenty of photo ops.

Get into the holiday spirit! Parkesburg VFW Post 4480 hosts their 3rd annual Christmas parade at A. Duie Pyle.
