Kids learn about epoxy resin and all the things they can make with it, like jewelry, coasters, alphabet letters, magnets, shadow boxes, pressed flower ornaments, and more.
Campers explore how to use different types of resin with different media, like paint, alcohol inks, and various colorings and additives, as well as several pour techniques.
Camps are designed to be developmentally appropriate for the age range listed, so that each child feels empowered and successful, not frustrated. In order to set everyone up for success, Design Hive insists that all participants must be the appropriate age, as listed. This class is for ages 7-17, no exceptions.
In order for students to fully participate, campers are expected to:
1. Use full sized scissors independently
2. Use a hot glue gun independently.
3. Know how to tie a knot and a bow.
Camps and workshops tend to be messy, especially STEAM sessions and process art classes. Campers frequently use paint, sticky substances like resin and clay, and tools like screwdrivers and cardboard saws. Please send children in clothes that can get something on them that may not wash out.
Design Hive provides appropriate tools and helps guide children through activities safely. Design Hive instructors have the expectation that all children will participate and use all provided tools. Please make sure that this sounds appealing to both you and your child prior to registering.
