With Christmas less than three weeks away the festivities are commencing and what better way to celebrate than to enjoy a holiday themed event with your family. With a variety of activities like classic theater shows to holiday lights it will surely feel more like Christmas with these great events!

The Oddfellows Playhouse, a youth theater in Middletown, has a show called the Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story an adaptation of the timeless classic and the tale of Scrooge. The show runs from December 8-10 with all performances at 7:30 pm.

Visit the Connecticut Trolley Museum in East Windsor for their special Winterfest event. Start a new family tradition by going on a trolley ride this holiday season. You can choose to ride the closed car or open electric sleigh with motormen aboard singing holiday carols as it drives through the “Tunnel of Lights”. Once you make it back to the visitor center you can enjoy a warm cup of hot cocoa, listen to the entertainment and browse through the model trains and displays.

The Holiday Light Fantasia in Hartford is an amazing light display that spreads over two miles. Take a magical drive through Goodwin Park to enjoy its whimsical holiday scenes, familiar characters and lighted animations that will delight your entire family.

The Nutmeg Ballet’s Nutcracker returns to The Bushnell Theater this year for a great family friendly event. Enjoy the wondrous show where you and your child can be delighted by Princesses and Sugarplum Fairies.

Come support the community stage at The New Britain Youth Theater where they’re showing a great holiday comedy written by a local playwright called I’m Getting nothin’ for Christmas!” It’s a fun show for all ages about a group of kids who got on Santa’s naughty list featuring familiar Christmas songs.
