The performance takes place at Washington Irving's Estate, Sunnyside.

For 19 nights, between October 4 and November 3, The Sleepy Hollow Experience will bring to life the classic ghost story’s famous characters: Ichabod Crane, Katrina Van Tassel, and the Headless Horseman. This production fittingly uses Washington Irving’s estate, Sunnyside, as the set. An interactive experience, the show features instrumentalists and singers who engage with the audience, including during the Van Tassel party scene, when refreshments are available to all. It is a walk-through performance, so audience members will follow the performers from scene to scene. The show is deemed suitable for all ages.

Meet Ichabod Crane and other characters from "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow."

Though new to the Tri-State area, the Sleepy Hollow Experience, created and produced by Brian Clowdus, has been presented at other locations in the U.S. Of note, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” will celebrate its bicentennial in 2020, having been published in 1820.

The production runs approximately one hour. The performance schedule is as follows:

  • October 4-6, 11-13, 18-20, 25-27, 31; November 1-2: 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm
  • November 3: 5:30pm and 7:30pm

Ticket prices vary by date and demand, with ranges given from $45 to $65 for adults and $25 to $45 for children. This provides an incentive to purchase tickets early to avoid higher fees later on.

The production has some "light scares," but is suitable for all ages.
