Free Entrance Days in the National Parks

On select days throughout the year, all national parks are open to the public with no admission fee. In August, we can celebrate the anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act, by spending time in the Great Outdoors. For free!

2024 dates:
January 15: Birthday of Martin Luther King Jr.
April 20: First day of National Park Week
June 19: Juneteenth National Independence Day
August 4: Great American Outdoors Act
September 28: National Public Lands Day
November 11: Veterans Day

(No worries if you miss these days—264 of more than 400 national parks never charge an entrance fee.)
